Eligibility: For admission to the Colleges of U.T. (Chandigarh) condition of residence is not required. UT Pool 60%: Out of the total sanctioned intake of the institutions 60% seats will be filled up from amongst the students who passed their qualifying examination from colleges recognised by the Chandigarh Administration and situated in the Union Territory of Chandigarh as a regular student of the said College/ Institution, subject to the condition that such students must have studied for two years at Chandigarh and have passed one lower qualifying examination from the colleges/ institutions situated in the Union Territory of Chandigarh. These seats will be termed as ‘UT Pool’. General Pool 40%: Out of the total sanctioned intake of the institutions 40% seats will be filled from amongst the students who have passed their qualifying examination from the institutions other than those located in the Union Territory of Chandigarh or otherwise. These seats will be termed as ‘General Pool’.Candidates possessing atleast 45% marks in aggregate in the Bachelor’s degree/ Master’s degree examination of a recognised University provided the applicant has offered atleast two school subjects at the first degree and post-graduate degree level. There shall be a relaxation of 5% marks in favour of SC/ST candidates. In addition to the above, the candidates should have obtained atleast 25% marks in the Entrance Test in the case of SC/ST candidates, and 30% marks in the Entrance Test for all other categories.Educational Qualification: Bachelor’s degree of this University or any other recognised University with atleast 45 per cent marks in the aggregate, provided the candidate has offered atleast two school subjects at the first degree level.M.A. or M.Sc. or M.Sc. (Hons. School) or M.Com. degree of this University or any other recognised University with a minimum of 45 per cent marks in the aggregate, with combination of at least two school subjects at the first degree and postgraduate degree level.B.A. degree of the University through modern Indian Languages and English only examinations, in which case the aggregate of 45 per cent marks shall be calculated by taking into account the marks obtained in English and the elective subjects taken together.
Admission Procedure: After the result of the Entrance Test has been declared, all eligible candidates who are called for interview will be required to fill in the Admission Form (attached with the Main Application Form for B.Ed. Entrance Test), complete in all respects (in his/ her own handwriting), along with all the required documents and submit the same at the time of interview. The candidate shall pay Rs. 250/- as Counselling fee. The admission to Colleges of Education situated in U.T., Chandigarh will be done strictly as per the N.C.T.E. norms by the Admission Committee to be constituted by the Vice – Chancellor, Panjab University.
Admission Criteria: The admission to B.Ed. Course in the affiliated colleges of the P.U. Situated in U.T. (Chandigarh) for the session 2009-2010 shall be made on the basis of the relative merit of the candidates in the Entrance Test, subject to the availability of seats in a particular subject combination and such reservations as prescribed in the Rules of the U.T. Administration/ P.U., Chandigarh.The candidates are required to fill the Admission Form in his/her own handwriting. He/ she will be admitted to the college on merit obtained subjectwise provided he/she fulfils the requisite eligibility conditions of the Panjab University.
Course Fee: The total fee for B.Ed. (First year) is Rs. 19307/- that may be deposited in two installments.
